The Argent Mine was a silver mine located in southern Wrothgar, though its resources were said to be long exhausted by the late sixth century of the Second Era.[1] Along with silver ore, the rare metal known as Liquid Silver was also found there.[2]
Some time after 2E 428, the forces of the Order of the Silver Dawn were lead to the mine by their founder Adeliza Silver-Axe, whose family had owned the mine. The Order was a group dedicated to hunting werewolves in High Rock and the Argent Mine became their secret base of operations. The mine's resources were turned to creating silver weaponry and armor to aid in the Order's fight against werewolves.[3] It was also where the Banner of the Order of the Silver Dawn was kept, a sacred relic of the organization.
For decades the Silver Dawn operated from their secret stronghold until 2E 582. Magnar Child-Eater and his werewolf pack rampaged throughout High Rock and Wrothgar leading to a several-year conflict between them and the Order, with many casualties on both sides.[3] This conflict came to a bloody end when Magnar and his pack invaded the mine and slaughtered most of the Silver Dawn's forces.[4] While the banner of the Order was eventually recovered[5], the survivors of the Silver Dawn are thought to have abandoned the mine.[4]
