Seems pointless[edit]

This quest seem's....Pointless? I mean, why can't you talk? Are there a bunch of shop's near the area? Integra 02:40, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Because the Oath of Silence you took is like a sacrifice you are making to a god. This IS in the temple questline.--Corevette789 02:57, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

easiest[edit]

before the quest get about 3 scrolls of windform or windwalker they both give 500 points levitate (which is extremely fast) for 60 secs and invisibility for 60 secs, the only difference is the wind walker is something like 1600 gold and windform is around 300. enchanters sell them randomly i think theres a higher chance at high levels so leave an enchanter till your high level. The easiest is to go the shrine before accepting the quest and Marking. If you want to use levitation, the article already mentions the levitation shrine outside the High Fane, which is a lot cheaper than buying scrolls. --Brf 15:59, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
yes but the scrolls are qucker and money is really easy to get on morrowind (Eddie the head 16:11, 9 January 2011 (UTC))
The scrolls are not quicker. It is much easier to donate a levitation potion to the shrine outside the High Fane, than it is to find an Enchanter who sells those scrolls. It is quicker yet to cast Recall and instantly get to the destination shrine. --Brf 16:21, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
the mages guild enchanter in vivec usually sells them and also it is useful to find a enchanter who sells them because they can be useful in other quests like the vampire quests— Unsigned comment by Eddie the head (talkcontribs) at 23:50 on 9 January 2011 (UTC)
The scrolls are not quicker nor cheaper. However, they do provide the player with invisibility, which can be a relief in the cliffracer infested areas. (Especially if they get stuck, and directly target you as you reenter the area later on. This puts the player in combat status, while there may not be a cliffracer in sight/reach.)— Unsigned comment by 77.163.207.25 (talk) at 20:46 on 2 February 2011 (UTC)

() the shrine gives you 100 points the scrolls give you 500 points and around 3 scrolls is all you need for the quest (Eddie the head 09:55, 5 February 2011 (UTC))

This is getting to be a silly argument. One rising-force potion is cheaper than three windwalker scrolls. The scrolls only last one minute each too, while the shrine lasts for 24. The shrine is right there within walking distance too. --Brf 15:49, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
im not saying that windwalker scrolls are cheaper im saying their quicker and also if your lucky you could get winform instead which are 300 ish gold and do exactly the same thing there still not cheaper but more affordable and again they are quicker (Eddie the head 10:43, 6 February 2011 (UTC))
If you are all hung-up about "quicker", then use Mark and Recall. --Brf 14:26, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
but you still have to got there windform works try using to get somewhere— Unsigned comment by Eddie the head (talkcontribs) at 11:00 on 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Do Sleepers break the vow of silence?[edit]

I understand that dealing with Guards accosting you for a crime does not count as breaking the vow of silence. However, does this also apply for dialog forced upon you by Sleepers? Salamangkero 01:49, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

No. Sleepers will break your vow. The vow-breaking line is at the top of Greeting1, and the sleeper introductions are lower down in Greeting1, so the vow-breaking always takes precedence. Only things in Greeting0 will not break the vow. This includes most guard encounters if you've got a bounty (or have just been attacked by the Dark Brotherhood at the beginning of the Tribunal main quest), greetings from Thieves Guild people who can remove a bounty, greetings for being a werewolf or vampire if you have a bounty, and pretty much any greeting from somebody who immediately ends conversation and tries to kill you. It also includes any greetings from creatures, so you can still do business with Creeper or the Mudcrab Merchant. --TheRealLurlock Talk 03:37, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
