Problem[edit]

Oblivion crashes randomly during interior-exterior transitions.

Cause - Buggy OBGE DLL[edit]

This type of crash can be cause by the old, buggy OBGE.dll (used by mods such as Screen Effects).

Solution: Remove the buggy OBGE.dll and install Oblivion Graphics Extender. Only the Core file is necessary.

Cause - Pluggy[edit]

Certain versions of Pluggy can cause this type of crash, as well as a number of other types of crashes.

Solution: Upgrade to Pluggy to version 125 or Dev 132.

Cause - WeOCPS[edit]

This is an alpha-state OBSE plugin, and most likely it will remain that way. The extent of its instability is unknown, but it is a possible source of crashes of this nature.

Solution: Uninstall WeOCPS.

Cause - Bloom lighting & Anti-Aliasing conflict[edit]

Both Bloom lighting and Anti-Aliasing are enabled in game's video settings.

Solution: Disable Anti-Aliasing. Some users found they needed to disable both. Some video cards can successfully enable Anti-Aliasing on the card itself but not in the game settings.
