Niyya

Niyya is a Redguard sorceress who can be found in the prison of Highpoint Tower. She is being held prisoner by Ildari Sarothril. She wears some ragged robes. If you want her to live, you may have to escort her past the reavers at Brodir Grove after you clear the Tower.

Should Niyya survive, she will make her way to The Retching Netch in Raven Rock, where she will remain for the rest of the game. With the Ghosts of the Tribunal Creation installed, she will take a propaganda letter off your hands if you choose to distribute them during the Temple quest Her Word Against Theirs.

At the cage she can shout out:

"Please! You've got to get me out of here before she comes back."

"Unlock the door! Hurry!"

"Help! Please, help me!"

Once you free her, she'll approach you and say:

"Thank you for rescuing me. That witch was going to kill me soon, I just know it."

Ildari? What can you tell me about her?

"We were digging in these mines when she found us. She was hurt so bad. We took pity on her and nursed her back to health. She repaid our kindness by attacking us in the middle of the night. Those of us that didn't die were made prisoners."

What did she do to the prisoners?

"Horrible things. Experiments...and worse. I'm the last one. The others are all dead now. If you find her, don't make her end quick."

Where will you go now?

"First I'm going to leave this place, as fast as I can. Then I'm going to get on the first boat to the mainland. Good luck to you."

Despite what she says, she will then head to The Retching Netch and stay there for the rest of the game. After being freed, she may say:

"Thank you for rescuing me from High Point tower [sic]."

"I still have nightmares about what Ildari did to my friends."

Notes

• If the falling boulders trap in the tower has been triggered, Niyya's pathfinding may cause her to run into any standing debris left over from it, which will result in her death. It is possible to push the boulders out of the way by walking into them to clear a path. You can also accomplish this by picking up an object such as a bucket (not taking it) and moving the boulders with that.
• If you free Niyya after killing Ildari, she will remain in her cell and won't follow you out of Highpoint Tower (she may run to Raven Rock on her own so providing escort is a good measure to keep her alive if so).
