Skyrim:Unique Armor

The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
Jump to: navigation, search

Unique Armor is a type of armor available in Skyrim that is generally found in fixed locations, unlike most equipment in the game, which are randomly generated or generic equipment (see Generic Magic Apparel). Some of these armors can be improved through smithing. Improving enchanted armor requires the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

Many of these items are quest rewards, although some of the most valuable quest rewards are listed at Leveled Items (unique items, but with level-dependent statistics) and Artifacts (unusually powerful unique items with unique appearances and enchantments). For unique items that are needed to complete quests, please see the Quest Items article. For other unique items in the game, see the Unique Items article. For a list of the other available armor, see the armor category.

Guild Master's Hood

The Guild Master's Hood is the headwear for the unique set of equipment given to the Guild Master of the Thieves Guild, and is part of the quest reward for completing Under New Management. Alongside this item, this set of equipment includes armor, boots, and gloves. Its appearance is similar to that of the Thieves Guild Hood used by the regular members, except for its darker color. As it is essentially an upgrade to the regular set of guild armor, this hood has a superior armor rating and gold value to the basic set, although it weighs more. Like its similar appearance, the Guild Master's Hood also has a correlative, yet more powerful, enchantment to the more common version of this equipment. The hood fortifies barter ability by twenty points, versus ten points for normal Thieves Guild Hood and fifteen points for the upgraded version. Tempering this item requires a piece of leather and the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

Visage of Mzund

The Visage of Mzund is a unique Dwarven Helmet that is found within a treasure room in the Fahlbtharz Grand Hall. This helmet fortifies your stamina by 60 points, while also adding the lesser power Breath of Nchuak. The Visage of Mzund can be tempered with a Dwarven Metal Ingot, with the Dwarven Smithing perk doubling improvement.

For more information, see the Visage of Mzund article.

  • Usage of the helmet's power can cause enemies killed by the effect to launch high into the air.
  • The effect is similar to that of the Dwarven Centurion's steam attack, though it is not the same: it deals less damage and has a different visual effect.
  • The Visage of Mzund is one of two pieces of headwear in the game that has a Fortify Stamina enchantment, similar in strength to that of an item of Peerless Stamina (+70 stamina). The other is Rahgot's mask.
  • If you have no stamina (such as being a vampire out during the day), you cannot use the helmet's power. There also seems to be a minimum amount of stamina needed in order to activate the power, if you've already used it and are waiting for your stamina to recharge.[verification needed — minimum?]
