Quest bugged?[edit]

I wandered upon this crypt today and found Eisa standing outside of it, but she won't start the quest. She's standing outside alone and when I talk to her she just responds with usual banter and I can't initiate an actual conversation with her. What can I do do get this quest to initiate? Any help would be appreciated. Mole126 04:32, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

EDIT: I just pickpocketed her and noticed she had a journal on her. I killed her and took the journal and when I read it, it began the quest. Hope this helps anyone who runs into this little problem. Mole126 04:36, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

I also had this problem so I played through the dungeon and killed the pale lady, and still got the sword without having to start the quest. --50.89.81.210 21:40, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
My experience was the same as the above's. I was in beast form when I found the ruin though, so it's possible that had something to do with it. I'm not sure. I will note that Eisa does not become hostile to you in Beast Form. — Unsigned comment by 108.207.60.230 (talk) at 22:29 on 1 December 2011
Same here, Eisa didn't say anything when I talk to her, just regular banter. I got all the way through the dungeon with no issue, got the blade and such, with no action from the journal. I'll try pickpocketing her, or talking to her with the blade in my posession, see if it does anything. Malko050987 19:14, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
Same here. Approached and discovered the crypt and Eisa after fast travelling to Mzinchaleft then approaching on foot. Did this twice but never saw any other bandits attack Eisa and she won't say anything more than "hello" and "huh?" PS3, version 1.3. Oblivoid 04:46, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
I got a quest from Khar'jo to retrieve his moon amulet in this dungeon. i did not meet Eisa nor any NPC, and i just fought my way inside to get to the moon amulet. i eventually ran into the Pale Lady, she killed Ra'jirr before i had the chance to kill her, then i took the Pale Blade, having no idea it was part of the quest (that's why i checked here). i just found it very strange that you can start a quest without an indication of some sort PC, version 1.3. Again the same. I was looking for the road up to Dagon's shrine. Eisa just said "What do you want, cat?" (I was playing as a Khajiit). The rest of the quest seemed to go as normal, though, with the bandits talking about how mad the "boss" was, finding the mortally wounded boss, and then seeing the Pale Lady kill Ra'jirr. --174.6.51.17 01:21, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

() Can you still get the dragon shout if you went through the crypt wihtout getting the quest? — Unsigned comment by 154.20.191.91 (talk) at 02:01 on 25 March 2013 (GMT)

Perma corpses of bandits for thralling[edit]

In my first play after me and Eisa killed bandits I thralled one and found the corpse is not reset even I left her unattended for a long time (actually it turns out that I stored her and some others in my house and when I returned the others were alive and hostile but she was still in a corpse form). Then somehow I returned to crypt and found that other two corpses of bandits who attacked Eisa are still there after several months of game time. Thus it seems that their corpses are permanent which my be useful for necromancers. They are not great fighters however so it makes sense to use it as utility: some little distraction in fights, and store loot from enemies in it. However in my current play, no bandits appearing whatsoever, so Eisa is simply staying there.--89.23.179.58 03:43, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

questgiver is gone![edit]

When she wouldnt talk to me, (other than generic conversation.no bandits attacking her etc)I decided to wait to start the quest by pickpocketing her journal or killing her to obtain it,and just left to return later.Well, when I did return shes just gone now. Ive used aura whisper and detect dead etc in a wide area around frostmere.(In case she was under the stairs/game world and so on)And nothing...not around alive or otherwise. Im on the 360 so no console 8(. I have never entered the crypt...ever. And this is all after the latest patch that supposedly fixed this. Ive got over 800 hours on this character/playthrough (yes eight HUNDRED hours) So the thought of starting over or anything of that nature is....troubling to contemplate. Anyone have a clue how I can salvage this? — Unsigned comment by 74.74.120.44 (talk) at 01:47 on 29 April 2013

If you don't have any saves from before you encountered Eisa, then the only thing I can think of is to try to enter the Crypt and find one of the other Journals. They may trigger a quest stage that will allow you to advance. Without console commands, I don't see any other way. Sorry. --Xyzzy Talk 19:41, 29 April 2013 (GMT)
Well...it was a good idea but unfortunatly neither the journals or any of the notes lying around triggered the quest. 8( I guess ill have to wait and hope for a patch that errr patches the patch that didnt work...or something. Thanks for trying to help though Xyzzy. I thought it might work myself. — Unsigned comment by 74.74.120.44 (talk) at 11:23 on 6 May 2013 (GMT)

Master Chest[edit]

In the master chest, are you sure that's what's in it? It may be just what you found. — Unsigned comment by 142.197.77.39 (talk) at 18:40 on 24 January 2015 (GMT)

(EDIT) The additional leveled items are in the water with the chest, not in it. Also it refers to the adept chest not the master chest. It may need rewritten for clarity. I'll take a stab at it. Philbert (talk) 03:47, 18 March 2015 (GMT)
I'm confused. The Master locked chest is nowhere near water, it's up on a ledge. I also found different things in it than what was listed, I'm assuming the loot in the chest is random and maybe leveled (I can't check 'cuz I'm on an xbox). The contents of the adept chest in the next room also were not what's listed, nor were those things in the water (other than some soul gems). I edited the article to omit the list of contents just in general, hopefully someone can clear it up re: if the loot is random or not. Obax (talk) 20:49, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Pale Lady invulnerable?[edit]

I just watched three different flame atronachs pummel her with fireballs for about three minutes and her health didn't budge. Finally had to banish her just to get through the quest. I've done this quest a few times with different characters and never had this problem. I'm on 360, level 21, playing on master. Anyone else ever experience this? — Unsigned comment by 73.183.236.80 (talk) at 06:11 on 21 April 2015 (GMT)

Skeleton[edit]

I haven't seen this mentioned on the page, but on the way to the master-level locked chest there's a skeleton laying on the ground near a rotten tree trunk, with some gear next to it (hide shield and ebony warhammer for my level 45 character, I imagine the weapon is leveled).--66.102.8.248 07:45, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Features of the places the quest take place is usually only mentioned on the page of the place if it is not directly involved in the quest. It is already mentioned there. —MortenOSlash (talk) 18:06, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Ra'jirr's Coincidental Heart Attack[edit]

I just completed the quest by sprinting up to the Pale Lady to kill her before she could kill Ra'jirr. According to the page, when this happens, Ra'jirr is supposed to turn hostile and attack you, but in my case he simply dropped dead without ever turning hostile.--Shahrazad the Listener (talk) 17:59, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
