Darvas Dreth and Jubal Orda

Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Neras Hardil in the Andothren Guild of Fighters, about orders and Darvas Dreth.
2. Go to Vathras Plantation and find Darvas Dreth.
3. (Optional) Speak to Jubal Orda.
4. Kill Darvas Dreth and report to Neras Hardil for 1,000 gold.
5. (Optional) Split the gold with Jubal Orda.

Detailed Walkthrough

Neras Hardil has further orders. A Fighters Guild member has a bounty on his head for murder, and was last seen camping near Vathras Plantation. Neras wants you to kill him. Vathras Plantation can be reached by leaving Andothren through its eastern gate and following the main road south. The plantation is the first settlement you'll enter along the road. You'll need to search the area to the northeast of the plantation manor for Darvas Dreth's camp (said camp is directly east of Slaves' Shack Two).

Jubal Orda

You'll find Darvas Dreth has company - a Dark Elf named Jubal Orda. Darvas himself is keen to point this out when you talk to him, apparently confident in Jubal's assistance in any fight you start. You do have the option of attacking Darvas anyway, in which case Jubal will join Darvas' side, utilising a weapon with the Paralyze spell effect. You only need to kill Darvas for your journal to update - once he's dead, you can escape Jubal if unable to kill him, and report directly to Neras Hardil for a 1,000 gold bounty.

If you would rather not fight Jubal in addition to Darvas however, you can speak to him instead. He'll say that their partnership is a recent one, and mentioning the bounty on Darvas' head will quickly see him abandon it. He'll offer to help you take down Darvas instead, in exchange for half of the bounty. You can decline this offer, and attack Darvas on your own, allowing you to kill him singlehandedly and claiming the full 1,000 bounty from Neras Hardil. If you accept Jubal's help however, he will reappear outside of the Fighters Guild once you have collected the bounty and request half.

Jubal's Request

There will be consequences down the line for refusing Jubal's request, and these come into play in The Cursed Crown. If you wish to honor it, you can either confirm the bounty to have been 1,000 gold, and give Jubal half, in which case he will happily depart. He will accept 250 gold if you succeed on a hidden Haggle check. This Haggle check takes into account your Mercantile, Speechcraft, Personality, Luck and Fatigue, alongside Jubal's disposition towards you. Failure in the haggle check will cause Jubal to demand a full 500 gold cut - refusal will again have consequences.

• This quest used to be named Darvas Dreth's Bounty.

Bugs

• Dialogue exists in file for the slaves of Vathras Plantation in order to direct you to Darvas Dreth's camp, but this does not trigger in the 22.11 release.
