White Text On Brightly Colored Boxes[edit]

The following Templates are difficult to read in dark mode for the reason stated in the title of this section:

  • {{cleanimage}} (white text on bright blue)
  • {{Notice}} (white text on bright blue)
  • All of the MWOP header templates (white text on bright yellow)
  • The ONQP header templates (white text on bright yellow)
  • Lore Places Project header templates (white text on bright blue)
  • Oblivion Redesign header templates (white text on bright yellow)
  • Skyrim Cleanup Project templates
  • {{Blocked}} (white text on bright yellow)
  • {{Pre-Release}} (white text on bright blue)
  • Forced Substitution (white text on bright yellow)
  • Caution (white text on bright yellow)
  • Quality (white text on bright pink)
  • Archive Header (white text on bright yellow)
  • Cleanup (white text on bright blue)
  • Closed Forum Topic (white text on almost-white grey)
  • Cobl Old Project (white text on bright yellow)
  • Consensus (white text on bright green or red)
  • Deletionreview (white text on bright yellow)
  • Deprecated (white text on almost-white grey)
  • Crossover (white text on bright yellow)
  • Doppelganger (white text on bright blue)
  • Editing Allowed (white text on almost-white grey)
  • Peer Review (white text on bright yellow)
  • Minimal (white text on almost-white grey)

Additionally, while not as egregiously invisible as the white-on-yellow boxes, the white text on Template:Warning should be changed to something darker to stand out more in Darkmode.

I've been slacking in reporting Darkmode discrepancies, but I'll try to report issues more often. -MolagBallet (talk) 17:58, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

I've tried to fix a couple of templates with this problem by adding id=genMidColor, such as here. If this is a workable solution then I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to apply it to other templates as well. --Oriwa Talk 18:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Intnote Highlights[edit]

When you click on an Intnote in Darkmode... ah, this one is perhaps better shown than told.

Here's an intnoted piece of information:

"I like cheese"

blah blah blah...

He does not, in fact, like cheese.

If you click on the intnote after "I like cheese", the color highlighting "He does not, in fact, like cheese" is bright blue, and it has white text. The white text is difficult to read on the blue background. -MolagBallet (talk) 04:56, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

This fell off my watchlist at some point, but this one is done now Kiz (email - talk) 09:29, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Skyrim:Jarl Table[edit]

On the page Skyrim:Jarl there is a table that uses colors to signify the Jarls' allegiances in the civil war. With dark mode active, the colors are not visible. I apologize if this is not how this is done; I have never done this stuff before. --Paperoblivion (talk) 23:46, 19 January 2022 (UTC)

A few notes about darkmode[edit]

  • When WikiEd (and darkmode) are enabled in preferences, the editor window has white background. As a side note I tried enabling my darkmode plugin (Dark Reader) on top of uesp's darkmode, which fixes it but the standard text remains black, making it unreadable - that's probably more a problem with said plugin though ofc. Side note 2: I have WikiEd enabled solely for syntax highlighting - there are extensions such as CodeMirror which would allow syntax highlighting, though it seems they wouldn't work in MW 1.27.
  • When clicking the "add new section" [+] button, the "Subject:" text is white on (almost)white background.
  • Visited links color is only barely darker (blue) than unvisited links; could use purple like in standard mode?

Thanks
