Plants[edit]
"Carnivorous" plants are still plants, so they go in the Flora section of lore (ignore my fauna typos in the edit summaries). Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 02:14, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
- Ive previously asked in discord about this and they said that they should belong in fauna instead.— Unsigned comment by Zebendal (talk • contribs) at 03:15 on 10 October 2018

- Whoever told you that is wrong. Plants are plants, not animals. These plants are based of things like the venus fly-trap, just enlarged to actually be a threat to a human-sized animal. An equivalent existing plant is the Lore:Harrada Root from Oblivion which strikes you should you get too close. The problem with the strangler is that the game treats it like an animal, or more accurately, like an NPC. However this should not be confused with the actual definition of the plant, as these distinctions are of our own making, else all Bestiary entries would be mixed in with the people entries. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 02:30, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
Ok thank you for your help, will move the Murkmire flora at a later time.--Zebendal (talk) 03:06, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
References[edit]
Hi Zebendal! First of all I want to say I'm very happy to have someone interested in helping to integrate the huge amounts of new ESO information into Lorespace. However, I want to make sure that we keep up our high standards for quality here, so please keep in mind the importance of providing accurate references for Lore articles, so that specific facts can be traced to their original sources. New pages should include sufficient references as a minimum standard, so leaving the entire section blank like Root-Whisper Tribe or Rootmender's Staff should never happen. Please let me know or post in the wiki discussion on the Discord if you need help with the technical aspects of formatting references, there are always people willing to help.
To give some advice right off the bat, I see two issues with reference formatting on the Blackguards page. First, each separate reference source needs to have a unique name parameter. Yours all have "name=PLJ", so they all appear as the same reference despite having different sources. We usually just loosely abbreviate the title for book references, so for "Drakeeh the Unchained's Journal, Page 3", I would do something like "name=DUJ3". Secondly, when citing books that only currently exist in their game namespace (not being notable enough to copy to Lore), you can add the parameter "ns_base=Online" to the Cite Book template. I've made these changes as an example, and some other corrections, so please take a look at the diff. Again, thanks for contributing and don't hesitate to ask any questions you have! -- Hargrimm(T) 19:31, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

Indenting on Talk Pages[edit]
Hello Zebendal! Not to harangue, but I have noticed that you do not indent on talk pages. I would like to bring to your attention to a standard present on most wikis: indenting. This means that you use a colon (:) ahead each talk page reply, one per reply level. This indents the text so the conversation is easier to follow. When these indents reach an egregious level, the {{od}} template (outdent) is used to represent the return of the text alignment to the leftmost. This is summarised fully on the Help page for editing. Thank you for your time!
— J. J. Fullerton ﴾talk﴿ 03:14, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- For the indentation, do I use the : symbol as soon as I create a post on the talk page? Or all posts after the initial one? Zebendal (talk) 22:18, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

- One more : for each contribution in the section. Like this. —MortenOSlash (talk) 22:55, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

Editing[edit]
Hi Zebendal, I've made some slight corrections to your recent addition to Lore:Dwemer Animunculi and you might note same going forward. Always remember to use Show preview when editing to ensure your formatting is correct. It can be helpful to look at other pages or entries on a page when editing for help. —Legoless (talk) 11:14, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

A couple of things to note[edit]
I've mentioned these a couple of times in discord and in edit comments, but could you make sure to include the entire NPC template when creating pages? It really helps new users format pages correctly when the format they need to use is already present on the page. You can find the template you need on pages such as Bandit Wildling. In addition, if an NPC is found all over a particular location (such as Samari in Rimmen), you can just put |city=Rimmen. You don't need to include a |loc=Rimmen parameter as well. Also, when uploading images, can you try to remember to add the appropriate categories? You can do this directly in the summary when uploading, or in an edit immediately after uploading. If you look at all of the previous images you uploaded, you should be able to figure out which categories go on which images.
If you have any questions about any of these, let me know! Jeancey (talk) 22:16, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
- Semi-resolved.--Analeah Oaksong (talk) 03:00, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
Image Uploading[edit]
Hey Zeb, is it possible for you to double check your image uploads next time. Two of your images your last batch had the Gamename and/or Categorization missing from them. Those that did, then had categories didn't match the category you'd assigned them in their name. I've been around a moved them as well as re-categorized those that wanted it. Recent Image Uploads[edit]
Hey, could you stop uploading over images without necessarily improving on what was there? You may want every image to have the same flat background, but that hasn't been the way we've done things. Some of your images ARE a marked improvement over what was there, some have an improved zoom on the image, for example, but almost just as many either don't really have any improvement, or are arguably worse than what was there. Please don't mass upload a new version of every image we have for items, until there is a clear agreement that we want them all to have a solid color background over what we currently have. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 07:03, 8 January 2020 (GMT)
- As you're using out of game assets to alter the image composition (replacing the background with ones you're creating in GIMP), please stop uploading ALL images you took with that methodology for now. There absolutely needs to be a discussion about if we want to feature images with non-game assets (even just a flat color) added to them. Until a clear agreement on if that methodology is desirable is decided, we really shouldn't upload more of them. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 07:45, 8 January 2020 (GMT)
Legends Image Uploads[edit]
I wonder where you are getting the recent images from? If they are from official sites, like twitter, then it's no problem. However, if they are from artist sites then we need at least to note where it comes from and who made it (and maybe even there permission) for use. There is also the concern of small changes (mostly colours and shading) between those on artist site and those used in-game. --Ilaro (talk) 19:07, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Im obtaining them from the official facebook and twitter pages since they are in higher resolution. I would not upload an image from an artist site due to copyright reasons.--Zebendal (talk)
Image Reuploads[edit]
Hi Zeb. I noticed that you performed a mass move and reupload of the majority of the images used on the Meet the Character pages in order to use them as render images. This should not have been done. The point of those image uploads were for use in lorespace, and they were correctly categorised under Lore-Book Images prior to this move. Their replacement with versions of higher quality and different cropping/ratio does not preserve the original articles, which is the sole purpose of those pages.
I have taken the liberty to revert these images so as to preserve the original version used on the Meet the Character articles. If we wish to host the higher resolution versions, please upload these separately as I have done with File:ON-render-Clivia Tharn 02.jpg. I have no objection to hosting the higher resolution images but they should not have been uploaded over the archived images which were specifically earmarked and separated from the ON namespace.
Sorry to have undone all that uploading work. It will be a pain to reupload separately, but this really should've been done in the first place and I have no way to split the image history. —Legoless (talk) 23:56, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Database references[edit]
Hi Zeb, this is a self-reference. We should be citing ESO rather than our own databases on lore pages. —Legoless (talk) 09:54, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
Deleting Lore[edit]
We appreciate your interest in contributing to the site. While reviewing Lore:Calendar, I noticed one of your recent edits removed content without any explanation in this edit. Notably, the new page you created did not include any details about the original holiday as was seen in the games, and you even removed the original celebration date entirely without explanation. If you believe that content needs to be deleted from a page, be sure that you leave a brief explanation for the deletion in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 15:34, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

Edit summaries[edit]
Hi Zeb, please don't forget to add a quick edit summary to your changes. This helps out patrollers when they are taking a look at recent changes. —Legoless (talk) 10:39, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
In case you're confused...[edit]
I just noticed that I reverted one of your recent edits and left what was no doubt a very confusing edit summary. That's because I had total brain failure and thought you had just added that to the page, when in fact you had just removed it (which was the right thing to do). Apologies if I left you confused (which I no doubt did) and thanks for being on the ball there (even if I wasn't). — Wolfborn(Howl) 03:18, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
Skyrim:Weapon Artifacts[edit]
Just to explain why I undid your [recent undo] of the Skyrim:Weapon Artifacts page (since I fat-fingered the edit summary): That was Umbra I restored and moved to its proper place, not Shadowrend. Unless you don't want Umbra on that page... in which case let me know. Cheers. — Wolfborn(Howl) 10:37, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Pre-Silverhoof Redguards[edit]
The reason Afareen must've been on Tamriel before the Silverhoof is the date in which she had to have been transported to The Shining Star. Her dialogue (as well as corresponding lines from fellow patrons) confirm she was one of the original residents when the city was pushed into Coldharbour from Nirn. The Groundskeeper's dialogue confirms that this was the same trap from Molag Bal that captured Laloriaran Dynar. Dynar's A Life of Strife and Struggle confirms that date of this event in the late 400s of the First Era. This places her before the earliest records of Silverhoof Horsemen.
She doesn't need to be immortal for this, aging in Oblivion is notoriously wonky and her fellow patrons exhibit no aging either. Cheers. Mindtrait0r (talk) 01:21, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

Userpatroller[edit]
Hi Analeah. I'd like to promote you to a Userpatroller on the wiki. You can read more about it on the page I linked. All this promotion requires is for you to accept or decline it, and I can grant it immediately.
This is the first step toward becoming a patroller on the wiki if you're thinking about moving toward that. You will see red exclamation points on User: and User talk: pages only, and you can help our team of patrollers check those edits off as good. Even if you are not very interested in that aspect, it's a good way to have your own userspace edits autopatrolled, and since you do a lot of work in your sandboxes, that would be a benefit too.
You've been on this wiki a long time and made many edits. The quality of your edits has come a long way, and I want to acknowledge that, even if you decline the userpatroller promotion. —Dillonn241 (talk) 02:33, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- I think that'd be useful for my own sandboxes. I do plan to expand a significant amount of pages everytime a new chapter comes out.--Analeah Oaksong (talk) 02:47, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
-
- Great, and thank you for your help with ESO! I've granted you the role. I believe you get the patroller role on Discord as well, but I'm not completely certain. I'll ask. You will want to add the {{User Userspace Patroller}} userbox to your user page to identify yourself in this role and add yourself to the userpatroller category. —Dillonn241 (talk) 03:05, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

- Went ahead and added it to my userbox. Thank you.--Analeah Oaksong (talk) 03:24, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
